The greater the electronegativity difference, the more ionic the bond is. Bonds that are partly ionic are called polar covalent bonds. Nonpolar covalent bonds, with equal sharing of the bond electrons, arise when the electronegativities of the two atoms are equal. since this is a very basic question, a good rule of thumb is just to measure how far away the molecule is from another. Look at the periodic table since all of them us "N' as the main ion, compare how far away each one is away, the more far away it is from N, it is more polar. The closer it is, it is non-polar. So for example N-N is nonpolar, compared to N-H, which is polar. Let me know if that helps.
