Two metals are used to make batteries. Would a battery in which both metals components are copper, make a good battery? Explain your reasoning.
I do not really understand the question.
@Hoslos would a battery in which both metals components are copper, make a good battery? (if both metal components are copper would it make a good battery)
I would say not necessarily. For a battery to be very effective, it is necessry for positive and negative poles be of a different electronegativity, so that more naturally electric current is made to flow from one pole to another. To make it more effective, then copper on both poles have to have different oxidation states, one Cu2+ and the other Cu4+. Conclusively, it is possible.
@Hoslos ok thanks
