help me please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMGGGGGGG!!!! X|
@Michele_Laino
@q12157
Have you learned the equation Q=mcT yet?
yes yes yes!!! !XD
Do you know what c is?
heat capacity
sorry...
i meant specific heat
so what is the specific heat capacity of water
the amount of energy it requires to raise the temperature of a 1Kg substance by 1 degreeeeeeeee
4.2X 10^3J/KgC
but pleaase answer my question please.........can't i just take 2 Kg of water and turn it into steam or something?!?1/1?!!?!?!?!??!!??!?!?
yesh but you need to know the temperature in which water turns into steam...which is?
hunnet
you can probably do the rest i believe
ive done the question for 2 KG and not 8Kg.....
i just took 2Kg water and turned it into stream...
Q = mct Q = 8Kg X 4.2X10^3J/KGC X 100C-25C Q = 2520J
i honestly don't know what to do :"(
ok thats the nergy required to boil 8Kg of water.... whats next?????
Find energy of the water at 25 degrees then find energy at of water at 100 degrees. You then subtract
yes but that would be for 8Kg of water right???????
any idea????
and since there is a change of state i think we need to add another formula.......Q = ml
4.46*10^6J?
what is that????????????/
i cant really think right now, but the answer is prolly something like this: Q = mct Q1=8kg*4.2*10^3*25--->Q2+Q3 where Q2=2*4.2*10^3*100 and Q3=2*2.23*10^6 so therefore energy added=Q2+Q3-Q1 which is equal to Q3 since Q2=Q1 and Q3=4.45*10^6 There is a good chance im wrong but im legit dying i need sleep
and by 4.45 i mean 4.46
ok but there is a change of state of matter....Q= ml......what about that, your turning water to stream
Q3 is the change of state
if im not mistaken m=2 l=2.23*10^6 J/kg or something
I dont remember
ok hun thanks....i love you,,,,, muuuuuuhhhaaaa, sweet dreams!! :")
yah night lol
sorry if im wrong tho xD
i'll figure it out eventually.... LOL
OK - first you need to raise the temperature of the water from 25 C to 100C. You were correct above and your calculation was: Q = 8Kg X 4.2X10^3J/KGC X 100C-25C Q = 2520J BUT now you need to add more energy to convert the water at 100 C to Steam at 100 C for this you need the 'latent heat (or enthalpy) of vapourisation and the equation is Q= mL so there are 2 'lots' of energy required: first 'specific heat' to raise the temp to 100 then 'latent heat' to turn the water into steam at 100 C add them together for the answer
Thanks Mr Nood lol! Turns out i slept 17 consecutive hours... wtf
imma give you a medal just for that....LOL
i figured out the question......you don't subtract, you divide by 4....since it's a 8:2 ratio. i did it both ways, i'm getting the same answer!!!!!!! XD
and yes that's exactly what Mr.Noob said XD....
I have no idea why you seem fixated on 2kg or any 8:2 ratio use the specific heat capacity for 8kg raised 75 K use the latent heat for 8kg from water at 100 C to steam at 100 C add them together
