How do you find the domain and range for equations like: Y=X^1/7 and Y=5√(X-4) +2 I have no idea where to start

for the first one, intuitively, one can see it is also all reals

yes. for the second, the "x-4" under the radical must always be greater than or equal to 0

So the range would be {X: X>4} (greater than or equal to, I didn't know how to make that sign haha)

yep. and for range plug in x=4 for minimum

Awesome thank you! So the range for any of those problems like the second one would be found by taking what's under the radical knowing it cannot be great than or equal to zero?

What do you mean by even index (sorry)

no problem.\[\sqrt[2]{x}\] ^ Has an even index\[\sqrt[3]{x}\]^has an odd index. Odd indices can accept an real number, even ones accept all reals greater than or equal to 0
