Help on Exponential Growth and Decay..
So in order to write down the equation in full we need to work out A0 and k, correct?
Um I think so. Im not sure this is my first time with this problem.
We have \[A(t) = A _{0}e ^{kt}\]
We need to define the t=0 point at the year 2000 so that will allow us to work out A0. We know that A = 5.95m at t=0 so what do you think A0 will be?
What?? My example had me do this.. A= A0e^kt 11=5.95e^k*60 Divide both sides by 5.95 Ln(11 over 5.95) =60k Divide both sides by 60 k=0.10 A= 5.95e^0.10t Divide both sides by 5.95 Ln (9 over 5.95)= Ln(e^0.10t) Divide both sides by 0.10 t=2.716
Im not sure if 0.10 is correct though.
@IrishBoy123
I get k = 0.01
Opps. Yeah I just saw that. I now get t= 41.38333578
That sounds better. 2041 to get to 9 million
Well done!!
Okay.. So the answer to A is 41.3 or 41.4 or just 41?
The answer is, the year 2041
Isnt that the answer to B?
Yes that's B For A they're just asking for the exponential growth function and you know what that is because you've found A0 and k
No I don't know what it is or I wouldn't be asking for clarification.
