A 2,000-kg car traveling at 40 m/s hits a wall with a force of 40,000 N and comes to a stop. What was the impact time? 0.5 s 2 s 400 s 800 s I can't figure out the formula for this

then \[F = m*\frac{\Delta v}{t}]\
Just cleaning up JFraser's latex here... \[F = m*\frac{\Delta v}{t}\]
However, I think I should modify the formula to account for the fact that time cannot be negative in these scenarios: \[F=m \frac{| \Delta v|}{t}\] This is because 0-40 gives us -40. When solving for t, we'll end up with a negative value.
