I have 2 real numbers: a,b. And \[M=(a-b-3)^2+(a-1)^2+(a+b+1)^2+(a+2b+2)^2\] and a matrix O=(3,1,-1,-2). Now I need to find a matrix A, which meets the following: \[M=||A(a,b)-O||^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[M=\left| \left| A \left(\begin{matrix}a \\ b\end{matrix}\right) -O\right| \right|^2\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is a matrix? I was always confused with that numbers one above other but not representing a rational number

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohh sorry, O is a vector.

I think i figured it out. I'll just use Least squares method.
