OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Now I never worked exclusively as I would have liked with matrices, however, isn't this just asking that we turn this into \(\large Ax = B\) Where A is just the coefficient matrix ? \[r\left(\begin{matrix}1 \\ -4 \\ 5 \\ 3\end{matrix}\right) + s\left(\begin{matrix}3 \\ -4 \\ -5 \\ 2\end{matrix}\right) + t\left(\begin{matrix}-4 \\ 1 \\ 1 \\ -4\end{matrix}\right) = \left(\begin{matrix}1 & 3 & -4 \\ -4 & -4 & 1 \\5 & -5 & 1 \\ 3 & 2 & -4\end{matrix}\right)\left(\begin{matrix}r \\ s \\ t \end{matrix}\right)\] Where \(\large A = \left(\begin{matrix}1 & 3 & -4 \\ -4 & -4 & 1 \\5 & -5 & 1 \\ 3 & 2 & -4\end{matrix}\right)\)

OpenStudy (amoodarya):

multiply them , it will be clear for example .in row 1 1s+3r-4t this is obtained by multiplying row 1 of A in column 1 of vector (r,s,t) try it
