High energy waves have: A. long wavelengths and low frequencies. B. long wavelengths and high frequencies. C. short wavelengths and low frequencies. D. short wavelengths and high frequencies.

Please someone answer

D should be your answer. Just a FYI you should post this sort of question in the chemistry section instead of the physics so it'll get more attention.

@staldk3 Waves is a bigger study of physics. I don't remember studying waves in chemistry whatsoever. I concur with your answer, however.

We did in my chemistry course.

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

The frequency and wavelength are inversely proportional. High frequency -> short wavelength, low frequency -> long wavelength \[\nu = f\lambda\]where \(\nu\) is the speed of the wave propagation, \(f\) is the frequency and \(\lambda\) is the wavelength Energy of a wave is proportional to frequency. \[E = hf\]for electromagnetic energy so higher energy waves have a higher frequency and that means they have a short wavelength. I did this in both physics and chemistry, got the same answer both places :-)
