C is 8 more than half of n Just translate it C is is means equals in mathematics, so after C, we have an equals sign Now we have to follow PEMDAS, and instead of look at "8 more" we look at "half of n" of means to multiply, and a half is 1/2 so that translates so far, into... \[c = \frac{ 1 }{ 2 } n\] Now, remember "8 more than half of n" 8 more just translates to + 8 So \[c = \frac{ 1 }{ 2 } n + 8\]
