if a substance is insoluble in water and ethyl alcohol, but soluble in hexane, is it a non-polar molecular substance?

@Zale101 @ganeshie8 @hartnn

OpenStudy (zale101):

Like dissolves with like. Water is a polar molecule, hexane is nonpoplar. Why? Because H2O has O, while hexane has c-h bonds which are not soluble.

OpenStudy (zale101):

Polar molecules will dissolve with polar molecules. Nonpolar molecules will dissolve with nonpolar molecules. Like dissolves like.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it's non-polar! since it only got dissolved in hexane, which is, like you said, non-polar.

OpenStudy (zale101):

Correct.
