Which of the following could be used to calculate the area of the sector in the circle shown above? π(5in)30 over 360 π(5in)230 over 360 π(30in)25 over 360 π(30in)5 over 360

OpenStudy (johan14th):

The equation for the area of an arc is A =(angle/360)*2pir Therefore we can just plig in the numbers.

OpenStudy (johan14th):

(angle/360)*2pir is the same as (angle/360)*(2pir/1) we can then multiply across (angle*2pir)/360 and then substitute the numbers

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

@Johan14th - ATTENTION please ,because formula for area of a sector of a circle is A = ß/360 *pi*r^2 where ß is the measure of angle of this sector in degrees

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

so and you know that 2pir is the length of perimeter of a circle - so what you have wrote above wnn being different formula or just a part off this

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

and the 3rd choice will result the right answer but hhow you have wrote there not is correct, you need replace the 30 and 25 because 30 is the measure in degree of this anle of circle sector and 5 squared is 25 is the radius squared of the circle hope now this is understandably sure right easy
