IUPAC name for [Co(NH2CH2CH2NH2)2(NH3)Cl]Cl

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ammine dichlorobis-ethylenediamine cobalt chloride

OpenStudy (aaronq):

that's not right, you're not even addressing the charge on the cobalt ion. Read this, try again (repost) and we'll help get it right http://bilbo.chm.uri.edu/CHM401/nomenclature.html

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I had a feeling about that, we were not given a charge so i wasn't sure

OpenStudy (aaronq):

you have to figure it out by the charge of the ligands, for example the chloride ions is -1, the rest are neutral. We also know that there is a chloride counter ion, so cobalt is 2+
