Nitrogen gas in an expandable container is cooled from 53.0 ∘C to 11.6 ∘C with the pressure held constant at 2.85×10^5 Pa . The total heat liberated by the gas is 2.65×10^4 J . Assume that the gas may be treated as ideal. Find the number of moles of gas.

How can I solve this problem without being given the volume?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Use the formula \[PV=nRT\], where: n - number of moles P- Pressure in Pascals V - Volume in m^3 R - Ideal gas constant = 8.314 T - Temperature in Kelvin. \[n=\frac{ PV }{ RT }\] Onto conversion: 53.0-11.6=41.4C\[K=T+273=41.4+273=314.4K\] If you had volume (not sure if you are missing), you would simply substitute in the formula.
