Okay I need help with this question. Consider the production of phosphoric acid. ___P4O10+___H20 ---> ___HPO4 What is the theoretical yield of phosphoric acid if 210. grams of tetraphosphorous decoxide is reacted with excess water?

OpenStudy (photon336):

@zamywamy you need to balance that equation first

OpenStudy (jebonna):

Did you mean H3PO4? If so, first balance the equation like photon said. Then, work out the moles of tetraphosphorous decoxide using the information provided in the question (moles = mass/molar mass) Then use stoichiometry to work out moles of H3PO4 You can then work out the mass of H3PO4 (mass = moles x molar mass) Your answer will be the mass of H3PO4 at 100% yield (theoretical yield)

I helped someone with this yesterday http://openstudy.com/study#/updates/57244838e4b0f53fb394a7a3
