A delivery driver is driving at 35 km/hr towards a siren having a frequency of 350 Hz. The temperature of air is 25 degrees Celsius. Find the frequency heard by the person approaching the siren.

Do you know what concept to use?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No

I ll give you a clue, it goes eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeoowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww...

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

here we have to apply the formula of the \(Doppler\;Effect\). So, the requested frequency \(\nu_O\), is given by this formula: \[\huge {\nu _O} = \left( {1 + \frac{{{v_O}}}{{{v_S}}}} \right)\nu \] where \(v_O=9.72\)m/sec, \(\nu=350\), and \(v_S\) is the speed of sound in the air at \(t=25°C\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I was easing into that :-/
