Can someone please do me a favor and take a screen shot of the answer for me? https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20101014142040AAiPjz8

the curve is y = x^(1/2) differentiating with respect to time t, dy/dt = d x^(1/2) / dt = 1/2 * x(-1/2) * dx/dt or, dy/dt = 1/[2x^(1/2)] * dx/dt now according to the question, dy/dt = 2, and we have to find dx/dt at x = 1/2 2 = 1/[2 * (1/2)^(1/2)] dx/dt or, dx/dt = 2*2*sqrt(1/2) = 2 sqrt(2) that's the rate, 2 sqrt(2) units per second
