Hydrogen and carbon are most likely to form what type of bond? ionic covalent metallic polar

OpenStudy (photon336):

do you know about each of these bonds?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, but I don't know how to find the answer

OpenStudy (photon336):

now ideally a covalent bond is when two atoms share electrons. it usually involves two non metals. an ionic bond is between a metal and a non metal. there involves a transfer of electrons. the metal likes to lose electrons so it transfers them to the non metal. the result is both of the elements have a satisfied octet.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok that makes sense thanks

OpenStudy (photon336):

now let me give you a question

OpenStudy (photon336):

\[Na-Cl\] what type of bond is this and why? also how do you know
