A particle confined to move only left or right is observed to move 1 unit of distance for each unit of time that passes at a given temperature. If the temperature is quadrupled, compare the probablity of the particle reaching a distance of at least 1 unit of distance away from where it started in 1 unit of time. a)They have the same probability b)Hotter temperature is 2 times as likely c)Hotter temperature is 4 times as likely d)Can't be determined

In my opinion, option C is correct. Because suppose there is one atom in a particle, that atom vibrates to and fro at constant rate at particular temperature. As we increase the temperature, kinetic energy increases(of that atom),so it fastly moves to and fro but at constant rate.
