I need help balancing Equations >.<
What do you need help with, specifically? can you give some examples?
couldn't get it to show subscript so I wrote it
I know how to do it, just cant get this one balanced for some reason...
3H2SO4 + 2B(OH)3 --> B2(SO4)3 +6H2O
The general way to proceed would be to start by balancing any metals (NOT hydrogen). Then, balance any nonmetals (NOT hydrogen OR oxygen). Then, balance oxygen. Lastly, balance any hydrogens. On the left side, you have one sulfur. On the other, you have 3. Term A needs to have a coefficient of 3. On the left side, you have 1 boron, but on the other you have 2. Therefore, for term B you will need a 2. Your metals and nonmetals are now balanced. On the left side, you have 18 oxygens. On the right, you have 13. If you change Term C's coefficient, it throws everything off, so put the difference on term D - giving it a coefficient of 1+5 = 6. On the left side, you have 12 hydrogens. On the right, you have 12 as well. The equation is now balanced.
thanks!!
