Chemistry kinectic
@Zale101
Any ideas?
in physics I learned potential mean like holding somthing and kinteic is realseing it thats all i know
negative
I'm looking at #49.
Take a look at the energy in KJ of the combustion located at the end of the balanced equation. Tell me the number of it.
but isnt that info used for the number 50?
Yes. What question do you need help with? You got the answer for 49?
I thought you wanted help for both questions.
yes like so how to do 49?
@IloveHW I want you to follow along when i asked you to type the number of the energy in KJ and i told you where it's located at. Can you please provide the number?
It's in your question.
1895?
Positive or negative?
negative
I see it positive.
You agree?
I mean when u take it out
but yea in the eqautin looks postive
What does that number tell you?
Is the system absorbing or releasing energy?
release
So if the energy is positive the system is releasing energy?
no absorb
but its not postive right you have to take it out which would make it an exothermic reaction
So the system is absorbing energy. Is that kinetic or potential energy?
potential?
Yes. So we eliminate choices C and D.
What answer do you think it is?
Can you describe how energy can change in a chemical reaction?
To get the answer for part ii, you need to know the answer on how energy change in a chemical reaction.
:)
okey how?
https://www.boundless.com/chemistry/textbooks/boundless-chemistry-textbook/thermochemistry-6/energy-57/energy-changes-in-chemical-reactions-274-3509/ Please read this page.
okey and on 50 I understand part 1 but not part 2
@iiloveHW Please refer to that page i posted. You need to understand terms like systems, surroundings, exothermic, endothermic, how chemical reactions formation. I you know all that, then you are able to understand the two questions.
Do you have any ideas for question 50?
yes I know its exotherim so its releases engery but how to do part 2 ?
If the energy is positive that means it absorbs enrgy meaning it is an endothermic reaction. Where do we absorb energy from?
so its potetial?
Where does the system absorb energy from?
envirometn?
Yes, that's referred to the surroundings.
ok now?
I told you all the information you need to find the answer for question 50. Do you have any ideas now?
yea i am confused less ptential or less kinectic?
Do you know the description of Le Chatelier's Principle ? if there's something in the product, then the reaction yields to the reactants. Increasing the system's temperature creates an endothermic reaction. In an endothermic reaction, energy or heat is in the reactants so that means the reaction yields to the product to counteracts the change. In your equation, does the product have more or less potential energy?
