What are the factors of 3x2 + 13x + 4?
@drawwithapurpose
Can i use symbolab for this?
(3x + 1)(x + 4) (3x + 4)(x + 1) (3x − 4)(x + 1) (3x − 1)(x + 4)
use math portal http://www.mathportal.org/calculators/polynomials-solvers/polynomial-factoring-calculator.php the answer will factored form will be (3x+1)(x+4)
ok thanks Can yall help with another one?
@hunter68: Even tho' you may have access to tools such as "mathportal," you still know how to factor expressions such as 3x2 + 13x + 4 yourself. Methods: completing the square graphing factoring factoring by grouping .... Which of these sound most familiar to you?
factoring
How would you start factoring?
i have another one i need help with do u think you can help?
@chasesbabygirl
3x2 + 13x + 4 has three coefficients, 3, 13 and 4. Just a sec: are you sure you could factor 3x2 + 13x + 4 on your own?
idk im not good at this
no
Then why do you want to move on to another problem right now?
i dont have an answer
Min = (−2.166667, −10.083333) that's what I came up with
If you wish to use factoring to factor 3x2 + 13x + 4, multiply the first and last coefficients together. You'll get (3)(4)=12. Identify the integer factors of 12: 1, 2, ... can you finishing this?
chasesbabygirl: the goal of this problem is factoring. How are min and max relevant here? Hunter68 needs to learn how to factor.
6
1, 2, 3, 6 and what other factors? Identify ALL of them.
4
(3)(4)=12 and factors of 12 are 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, ? and ?
12
okay but I aint that good at math at least I tried I aint trying to be mean about it
That's right. Next, Hunter, do you know either long division or synthetic division?
@chasesbabygirl: Thanks for extending sympathy, but please stay on the sidelines unless you're able to offer suggestions to Hunter68 for the solution of his math problem. Thanks.
umm your welcome
@hunter68? still want to discuss this factoring?
@hunter68: Please let your helpers know when you're planning to get off OpenStudy. Note that you were given four answer options: (3x + 1)(x + 4) (3x + 4)(x + 1) (3x − 4)(x + 1) (3x − 1)(x + 4) checking these out (e. g., by multiplication) would tell you quickly which pair of factors produces 3x2 + 13x + 4 when you multiply them together.
thank you and sorry my internet
