OpenStudy (markalaurie15):

I have purchased a 1wt% solution but can't figure out the mg/mL conversion. What is that conversion? Explain why, please.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what are the units of your solution?

OpenStudy (markalaurie15):

This is a 1wt% solution in water that is 30mL in volume. I need to know the mg/mL conversion for my experiment.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Im confused...what is "1wt%" ?

OpenStudy (markalaurie15):

I know that it is a 1% by weight solution.

OpenStudy (markalaurie15):

That's all I know

OpenStudy (markalaurie15):

http://www.us-nano.com/inc/sdetail/24978

OpenStudy (markalaurie15):

This is the source of the info if you need it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so are you trying to find the density?

OpenStudy (markalaurie15):

Yeah pretty much I need it in mg/mL

OpenStudy (anonymous):

try the formula D= mass/volume

OpenStudy (anonymous):

mass would be anything that involves "g" "grams"

OpenStudy (markalaurie15):

Yeah the density is mg(mass)/mL(Volume). I can't seem to convert the 1% by weight to this value

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1% = 0.01

OpenStudy (markalaurie15):

I'm guessing 0.01mg/mL since 1% of 30 is 0.3. It's probably not right though.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that would be right

OpenStudy (markalaurie15):

Ok thank you
