Event 1: Rolling a 5 on a standard 6-sided die Event 2: Probability of flipping heads on a standard coin Independent Situation: Roll the die and flip the coin Dependent Situation Don't flip the coin unless you actually get the 5.

sorry I mean B and C because 13/20=0.65 and 13/65=0.2 therefore they are independent right?

Good work. P(A) = 0.10 P(B) = 0.20 P(C) = 0.65 Always being on the look out for completeness (.10 + .20 + .65 = 0.95). We don't have the whole distribution. That may be fine. IF A and B are independent P(A and B) = .10 * .20 = 0.0200 IF A and C are independent P(A and C) = .10 * 65 = 0.0650 IF B and C are independent P(B and C) = .20 * 65 = 0.1300 If you lay stuff out so you ca SEE it and FOLLOW it, it is SO MUCH easier to explain and understand.
