OpenStudy (samigupta8):

Chlorides of both beryllium and aluminium have bridged chloride structures in solid phase....This statement is true or false...

OpenStudy (samigupta8):

@mayankdevnani plss...help

OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):

This statement is true

OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):

As anomalous behaviour of beryllium is that :- `Beryllium forms large number of complexes with CORDINATION NO 4.` `Other elements have low tendency`

OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):

As Be and Al show diagonal relationship with each other.

OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):

so it might be true for Al also

OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):

Other factor is :- You have to remember that :- `BOTH ALUMINIUM AND BERYLLIUM FORM POLMERIC HALIDES` (i forgot this thing repeatedly) http://i.imgur.com/NhmGeW5.png

OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):

lol. i referred to my NOTES after examine your question. I totally forgot about this. But i know Be form compounds with CN 4 and so Al forms diagonal relationship with it. So, i think this statement must be TRUE.

OpenStudy (samigupta8):

BT I sought for in the ncert n nowhere it is mentioned DAT beryllium does that in solid phase it just says DAT there is chain formed in solid state n bridge chloride structure in vapour phase....

OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):

@samigupta8

OpenStudy (samigupta8):

What ?

OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):

kya bolna chahti thi tum

OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):

yaar main thoda bahut bhul gaya hoon !

OpenStudy (samigupta8):

Luk....I m saying DAT ncert says did is true for the chlorides in vapour phase...not for solid phase....BT the question is giving and as true

OpenStudy (samigupta8):

Dis*

OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):

are you sure ?

OpenStudy (samigupta8):

Yup...u may check for urself in d ncert

OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):

NCERT IS WRONG

OpenStudy (samigupta8):

Shi bolo....base ho hi ni skta

OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):

`In the solid phase, BeCl2 molecules polymerize to make long chains. They do this by forming coordinate bonds (dative covalent bonds) between lone pairs on chlorine atoms and adjacent beryllium atoms. The following diagram shows a simple dimer—the start of the polymerization process.`

OpenStudy (samigupta8):

Ase"*

OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):

NCERT is wrong too in AIEEE qustions! but they don't do BONUS

OpenStudy (samigupta8):

Mtlbb seriously glt h kya ncert....I nvr expected this from it

OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):

haan

OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):

ek baar galat nahi huyi h bahut baar galat huyi h lekin voh AIEEE questions main BONUS nahi krte

OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):

they are too kamine lol

OpenStudy (samigupta8):

Are yeh Jo h NAA woh aieee ka hi h n usme toh ncert se aata h naa Jo ki ncert hi glt de rkhi h

OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):

you know what ncert is wrong! preferably buy new ncert edition

OpenStudy (samigupta8):

New me shi hoga iski kya guarantee h

OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):

iski guarantee h ...they edited wrong misconceptions

OpenStudy (samigupta8):

Do u have it

OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):

i don't know!

OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):

i hate ncert

OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):

i prefer my notes!

OpenStudy (samigupta8):

A cha....asa kya

OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):

haan aisa h

OpenStudy (samigupta8):

N kya kehre the jee mains fodungi sch me glt soch re ho...voh mjhe fodne wala h ....dis inorganic chemistry sucks....
