Calculate the number of moles of Cl atoms in 3.01×1024 formula units of magnesium chloride, MgCl2

OpenStudy (abmon98):

1 mole of MgCl2 is 6.02*10^23 formula units. Using ratio, you can easily calculate the number of moles of MgCl2 containing 3.01*10^24. One atom of magnesium combines with 2 chlorine atoms to form magnesium therefore the ratio is 1:2. So you multiply the number of moles calculated by 2.
