What is the rate of change and initial value for the linear relation that includes the points shown in the table? x y 1 10 2 8 3 6 4 4 Initial value: 12, rate of change: –2 Initial value: 8, rate of change: 2 Initial value: 12, rate of change: 2 Initial value 8, rate of change: –2
What is the relation btw slope and rate of change for linear functions?
Idk... @Redcan
I think the answer is B but I need someone to correct me
They are then same, if you have a linear function... so you need to find the slope btw any two points.
\[m=\frac{y_2-y_2}{x_2-x_1}\]
I'm confused lol
Do you know how to plot the graph?
you have a table of x,y values. maybe try and graph them
how do I graph it?
Draw the x and y axes.
just put point on a graph.|dw:1454654530196:dw|
Do you have a pencil and paper?
nope I dont :/ I'm trying to get this assignment turned in but I'm stuck on this question
Always do math with a pencil and paper from now on.
Redcan has started the graph for you above. Fill in the rest of the points. The "initial value" is where the line should cross the y-axis The rate of change is -2 by using the slope formula.
Any questions @xxlyh?
still solving but thank you! ill let you know if I have any
Solving is what math is all about :-)
ahh so it's D @skullpatrol
Nope.
darn it xD I'll try again
wait so the rate of change is -2? by using slope formula
Yes. I gave you half the answer.
I got rate of change -2 and initial value 12...... am I right ><
Yes.
