WILL FAN/MEDAL! Specific Heat - Need to check answers! Gold has a specific heat of 0.129 J/(g×°C). How many joules of heat energy are required to raise the temperature of 15 grams of gold from 22 °C to 85 °C? My answer: 121.9 J Is this correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Equation for specific heat: \[Q = cm \Delta T\]

OpenStudy (photon336):

\[(85-22)C*(15grams)*(0.129\frac{ J}{ g*C }) = 121.9~Joules \]

OpenStudy (photon336):

All you need to do is plug in the numnbers and check the units. Your answer is right. @lameobraino
