When the products of a reaction have less energy than the reactants: The reaction is exothermic. The reaction is endothermic. The reactants lost internal energy. The change in enthalpy is positive. @conqueror

OpenStudy (sasquat):

The reaction is exothermic because it gives off heat energy resulting in the product to have less energy that the reactants.

OpenStudy (sasquat):

The other answers wouldn't be right because endothermic means you are taking in heat energy which is not the case here. If the reactants lose internal energy that means that they lose inner heat energy and enthalpy is just a fancy word for heat. Hope this helped!
