OpenStudy (mortonsalt):

Find the general solution for the homogenous system. x - y + 2w = 0 5x+2y-z-2w=0 [x y z w]=____s + ____t where s and t are free variables.

OpenStudy (just_one_last_goodbye):

need help? :D

OpenStudy (mortonsalt):

Yes please!

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

@mayankdevnani might be able to help, but I'll see what I can find in case he doesn't come

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

I'm honestly not understanding what the question is asking :/ Maybe @freckles or @agent0smith can help?

OpenStudy (mortonsalt):

@sleepyjess I'm not entirely sure, but I think they want the blanks filled with matrices as the solution. :( It's a little confusing. Thanks though!

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

I'm sorry, but maybe @Agent47 @ikram002p @Jadzia @Luigi0210 @mathstudent55 @nincompoop @Vincent-Lyon.Fr @whpalmer4 can help you.

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

Wait, is this Differential Eq?

OpenStudy (jadzia):

Not sure. But I think you have to change the system into augmented matrix form and then transform it to row echelon form. From that, you can be able to write it in general form in terms of the parameters s & t.
