When assigning electrons to orbitals, which would be the most likely 'address' for the next electron following the 5s2 electron? 5s3 5p1 4d1 5d1

I think you might notice where these electrons go if you look at a periodic table after the atom with 5s^2. For a helpful periodic table simulation take a look at this website. www.ptable.com click on orbitals and search around where the atom with the last electron is 5s^2. Mouse to the atom to right of this atom and notice where the electron is filled into.
