You would subtract the two fractions.....but you need to change the denominators to be equal to each other....so in order to get common denominators we would multiply the denominators... \(\LARGE\color{purple}{8 \times 5 = common~denominator}\)

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Since we get \(\LARGE{40}\) we would now be able multiply the opposite factor to the denominators...and what we do on the bottom we do to the top.... \(\huge\color{Red}{\frac{4}{5} \times \frac {8}{8}}\) \(\huge\color{red}{ \frac {5}{8} \times \frac {5}{5}}\) What would the new fractions be??
