B?
OpenStudy (photon336):
what's your reasoning?
RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):
uhh let me look through my notes give me a second. im double checking most of answers lol
OpenStudy (photon336):
Well, in a covalent bond electrons are shared. remember ionic bonds usually have a metal and a non metal. covalent bonds between to nonmetals.
RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):
so wait wouldnt it be A then?

cause C and F is a covalent bond?
OpenStudy (sweetburger):
Thats Cesium not Carbon
OpenStudy (photon336):
Cs = cesium which is a metal
RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):
Now im confused :(
OpenStudy (sweetburger):
Well as @Photon336 stated covalent bonding is between two nonmetals. Which of the answer choices contains two nonmetals? You could also go through determine which three of the answer choices exhibit ionic bonding and through process of elimination determine which 2 elements exhibits covalent bonding.

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):
so a and c are both metals so it wont be either
RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):
wait no they arent. c is a non metal
RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):
C is the answer
OpenStudy (sweetburger):
Yes you are correct S and O exhibit covalent bonding
