RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

Acids generally have an excess of ______ ions in solution, while bases usually have an excess of ______ ions in solution. H3O+ ions; OH− ions OH− ions; H3O+ ions both H3O+ and OH−; only OH− only H3O+ ; both H3O+ and OH− @sweetburger

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

i said b but i dont remember why

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

You have it backwards

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

oh so A

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

Think of the strong acids example: HI, HBr. They dissociated and release more H+ ions into solution which can be denoted as H3O+ ions. Same thing with bases they just dissociated and release OH- ions.

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

yes a

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

ohh that makes sense
