@MATHMALE
OMG
-_- He deleted my post when I was going to POST a question.
ur gonna get it
It was an attachment. Thanks.
I was posting when HE just closed my chat. It wasn't 'spam'.
Anyway.
touchie.
^ I was going to post this underneath the chat. Anyone know this? I am stuck on this. Though.
First I thought x = _ + 2 but then it seemed something else.
y = 3x - 2
Are you doing what Y is or X?
@MissSmartiez What y is. To get x: solve for x: x = (y -2)/3
Ok,
Look for a rule that connects each x with the corresponding y. Use any two points to determine the equation of the line connecting those 2 points. Write the equation of this line. Then, check it to ensure it actually works. Then, use this equation to find the unknowns. I suspect the relationship is linear. It's up to you to check that out.
(y+2)/3 my bad
Linear? Well, I haven't learned that yet. It is mostly about the sequence or the function rule mathmale?
So, what do I do? To find j?
Function. I'd bet you have learned a bit about linear functions already, even if that name didn't come up. I explained it, step by step. Hope you'll try going through those suggestions.
You can guess, of course, but this method is grossly inferior to a careful mathematical approach.
Ok
Have you found the slope of a straight line thru 2 given points before?
No
Have you seen the equation y=mx+b before?
No. I am only in 7th grade, I am new to functions. (I feel incompetent)
Maths not my thing <3
Is it +2 then +3?
Think: "math could be my thing if I study it diligently and practice a lot."
Could you graph (5,13)? x-coordinate is 5 and y-coordinate is 13.
If so, leave enough room on your graph so that you could graph (12,34).
My brain isn't wired around math's complicated procedures. More of science, English, and history. Basically anything but science but I must know this to ace chemistry and such... Math is the base of science... However, which graph do you mean?
