MEDAL AND FAN FOR RIGHT ANSWER Which pair of points represents a dilation that is a reduction? K(5, -3) and K'(10, -6) K(10, -3) and K'(5, -6) K(10, -6) and K'(5, -3) K(10, -6) and K'(-5, -3)
K(10, -6) and K'(5, -3) i think
Remember, dilation means it grows or shrinks. Reduction means it's gonna get smaller. So look at the coordinates, and the answer will be one where the numbers are smaller, by a common factor being divided.
im pretty sure its c or d
Yep, it's one of those. You can see that the second set of coordinates are 1/2 of the first ones, so they're being divided by 2. Positive numbers will remain positive, and negative numbers will remain negative. :)
is it c?
Right :)
Thanks again :)
No problem!
Yay i was right
@Diamondgames yes you were :) just wanted her to know the steps
Ahh i get it
B
your wrong @slizzard
dilation which is a "reduction" means both the coordinates must reduce option B-> K(10, -3) and K'(5, -6) 10 to 5 -> reduced -3 to -6 -> reduced
