I need help please!!!!
Questions here.
@mathmale he needs your help
@welshfella
triangle ABC is isosceles because AB = AC ( 2 radii) Therefore CE = BE ( because triangle ABC is isosceles and AE is perpendicular to BC.)
Ok
I guess you need a 2 column proof but im not too good at those. I never learned that in the UK.
If you join C to D and B to D . the triangle CDB becomes isosceles because ED is the perpendicular bisector of CB. Therefore CD = BD.
So is that the first answer?
No thats the last One we've done the 2 parts.
So they both are the answers?
we've proved that BE = CE and also CD = BD.
Algebra in UK and US are very similar, Geometry is not.
Oh ok.
AC= AB = radius = R AE is shared by triangles: ACE and ABE, Angle AEC = Angle AEB = 90 degrees Therefore, ACE and ABE are congruent via SAS rule. (Side, Angle, Side) Therefore CE and EB ; Sides of triangles ACE and ABE respectively, are the same -- Angles CAE and BAE are the same as triangles ACE and ABE are congruent. Assume angles CAE/BAE = x The arc length of a fraction of a circle = radius * x, where x is the angle in radians CD = x*radius BD = x*radius Therefore CD and BD are equal.
Is this somewhat right?
In US geometry there are different labels for postulates and theorems.
Yes - except the reasons will probably have different labels.
Ok so i just put what i did?
well I would try and put it into a 2 column proof
I'm sure you'll get some credit for it.
