Suppose a substance has a heat of fusion =45cal/g and specific heat of 0.75 cal/g deg C in the liquid state. Melting point of the substance = 27 deg C. specific heat of solid = 0.48 cal / g deg C. Boiling point of the substance = 700 deg C. If you have a 45 g sample at a temperature of 21 degrees C and apply 5.0kcal of heat What is its final temperature? What state will the sample be in? I need to know the energy to get to the melting point, energy to melt the sample, and final temperature/state
