Help on algebra has to do with factoring polynomials. Pic of problem below
still there?
Yes
Going to post the actual problem?
I did its in the attachment
Unfortunately, I see NO attachment. You'd save yourself valuable time if you'd try again to post the attachment
Here's the photo again
any ideas on what the GCF is? starting hint: all the terms have pi so you can factor that out what else can you factor out?
Factor out 16?
good! that gives us 16pi(x^2 + 4x + 4) so that covers the first part
actually
can you factor that further?
Yes the remaining polynomial can be factored to (x+2)(x+2)
good! so that covers the first part any ideas on how to find the height?
So 16pi(x+2)(x+2)
yes, that would be the volume for the first part
I don't really understand how to find height
they give you two equations for volume V = 16pi(x+2)^2 and V = pi * r^2 * (h/3) just set them equal to each other and solve for h
The volume formula is given and includes the variable h, for height. Solve that formula for h (height). Then divide the given volume polynomial by what's left.
Thank you both so much
