RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

Ammonia gas is formed from nitrogen gas and hydrogen gas, according to the following equation: N2 (g) + 3H2 (g) ➡ 2NH3 (g). If 84.0 g of nitrogen gas is allowed to react with an excess of hydrogen gas to produce 85.0 g of ammonia, what is the percent yield of this reaction? 42.2% 65.0% 70.3% 83.3%

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

@sweetburger

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

B?

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

So we started with 84g of N2 which is 3 moles of N2. That should theoretically produce 6 moles of NH3. However, the reaction only produces 5 moles of NH3. So 5/6 x 100% = 83.3%

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

ohhh okay. I think the other molecules were confusing me. I get it.

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

yea these questions are pretty convoluted to confuse you lol
