OpenStudy (adriannabr):

High School Chem Both surface tension and viscosity result from a high degree of intermolecular forces among molecules in a liquid sample. True or false?

OpenStudy (gniiij):

F

OpenStudy (gniiij):

what do you think?

OpenStudy (adriannabr):

I honestly have no clue

OpenStudy (aaronq):

Surface tension and viscosity ARE a result of intermolecular forces. They have proportional relationship, such that high intermolecular forces result in high surface tension and high viscosity. However, the question is a little ambiguous as it indicates that "a high degree of IMFs" is necessary to have surface tension and viscosity be present, which is not the case.
