http://prntscr.com/azi3mr We're supposed to be using this v to solve the above http://prntscr.com/azi41f http://prntscr.com/azi48b All I've figured out so far is the apothem and radius are the same and to find the angle of each triangle we do 360/5. This result we half to make a 45-45-90 triangle. Then, we solve from there. Though, I'm not sure how to continue.

@xGuardians Can you help here?

OpenStudy (welshfella):

you have 2 pentagons and the apotherm of one = radius of the other and you need to find the ratio of their areas , right?

OpenStudy (kikuo):

Yep!

OpenStudy (welshfella):

so the one with the apotherm = radius is the larger of the pentagons. I have to go for 10 minutes but i#ll be back. I will help if no one else comes along.

OpenStudy (kikuo):

Alright!

OpenStudy (kikuo):

Wouldn't it be 38?

OpenStudy (welshfella):

the pentagon on the left has a radius of 1 and on the roght we have a pentagon with apotherm 1 and radius r cos 36 = 1 / r r = 1 cos 36 = 1.23607 so tye lengths of corresponding radii are 1.243607 ; 1

OpenStudy (kikuo):

Never mind. Calculator error haha.

OpenStudy (welshfella):

and the areas are in ratio of the squares of these radii.

OpenStudy (kikuo):

Could you label that? I'm not seeing radius of 1 and apothem of 1 with radius r. I see it, but it's just a tad bit confusing.
