What is the formula for latent heat of fusion? Will medal
@mos1635 @Sachintha
\[Q = mL\]
what is m and l?
@Sachintha
Ohh sorry was busy with my own question :3
can you help me now
Q - heat energy m - mass L - latent heat
so if i wanna find latent heat of fusion so do i uses Energy/mass?
Yeah
and what is the formula for latent heat of evaporation
It's the same. It differs by the amount of heat energy taken.
thanks
No problem! :)
Phase changes require extra energy to happen. A phase change is a transition from one phase of matter to another, such as from a solid to a liquid, a liquid to a gas or vice versa. If you freeze a liquid, then you are losing energy from the liquid so the heat of fusion is keeping track of this. If you boil a liquid then you are adding energy to the liquid. The heat of vaporization is how much energy you have a to add to get it "over the hump" to the next phase of matter.
