What is Descartes' rule of signs?
are you asking me to see if i know or do you really not know @plainntall
That is a good place to start thinking about his problem. If you know it then you should be able to come up with your own example.
thats what i know it is^
What does it mean? What if my polynomial is x^4-3x^3+6x^2-12x+1 What does Descartes' Rule of signs say about that?
well it has 4 sign changes, so the possible number of positive roots is 4
So what is the fundamental theorem of algebra? Perhaps this Khan Academy short video will help things along. https://www.khanacademy.org/math/algebra2/polynomial-functions/fundamental-theorem-of-algebra/v/fundamental-theorem-of-algebra-intro The questions are very general so I think they are designed to get you to think about the concepts. There is no real strategy to answering the questions, but it is rather to engage you in the process of assimilating the information.
