OpenStudy (zenmo):

Solve the differential equation, small question on concept.

OpenStudy (zenmo):

\[sinx \frac{ dy }{ dx }+(cosx)y = 9\sin(x^2)\]

OpenStudy (zenmo):

The 2nd step becomes \[sinx \frac{ dy }{ dx }+y*\frac{ d(sinx) }{ dx }= 9 \sin(x^2)\] then 3rd step \[\frac{ d(y*sinx )}{ dx }=9\sin(x^2)\] Why does cosx change into \[\frac{ d(sinx) }{ dx }\]?

OpenStudy (fwizbang):

The derivative of sin x is cos x

OpenStudy (fwizbang):

Are you sure its\[\sin(x^2)\]
