@sweetburger
OpenStudy (sweetburger):
what about it?
OpenStudy (raffle_snaffle):
so n = m/M right
OpenStudy (sweetburger):
n is moles

I am trying to solve for V and my gas is CO2 so how would I find the mass? It just me 44.01 g/mol * 1 mol / 6.022x10^23 ??
OpenStudy (sweetburger):
wait could you post your question so i can see what your trying to do.
OpenStudy (raffle_snaffle):
It's a thermodynamics problem. I need to solve for V when I have T and P
OpenStudy (sweetburger):
All you have is T and P. No other variables
OpenStudy (raffle_snaffle):
V = mRT/PM

OpenStudy (raffle_snaffle):
we have M and R those are constants
OpenStudy (sweetburger):
And your gas is CO2? correct?
OpenStudy (raffle_snaffle):
yes
OpenStudy (sweetburger):
Does it say the mass of CO2 you have or anything?
OpenStudy (raffle_snaffle):
#2

OpenStudy (sweetburger):
oh so your given n aswell but not M
OpenStudy (raffle_snaffle):
ignore that n
OpenStudy (raffle_snaffle):
that is for something else.
OpenStudy (raffle_snaffle):
That is for another equation. The n is not in mols
OpenStudy (sweetburger):
Yea i noticed it wasnt moles after reading more. is M representing mass?

OpenStudy (raffle_snaffle):
M is g/mol
OpenStudy (sweetburger):
So m is grams?
OpenStudy (raffle_snaffle):
yes
OpenStudy (raffle_snaffle):
why can't I use 1mol = 6.022x10^23 ?
OpenStudy (sweetburger):
why would you want to convert to the number of atoms?

OpenStudy (raffle_snaffle):
i'd use it to solve for grams
OpenStudy (sweetburger):
rather number of molecules*
OpenStudy (raffle_snaffle):
V = mRT/PM
OpenStudy (raffle_snaffle):
Look at page 5
OpenStudy (raffle_snaffle):
originally i wanted to use PV = mRT but I don't know how to find m. The units for this class are weird...

you know what I think I just figured it out.
OpenStudy (sweetburger):
please share lol
OpenStudy (raffle_snaffle):
wait holdon
OpenStudy (raffle_snaffle):
@sweetburger nvm didn't find it
