OpenStudy (reisspat):

A molecule is a Select one: a. negatively charged group of atoms held together by covalent bonds. b. positively charged group of atoms held together by covalent bonds. c. neutral group of atoms held together by covalent bonds. d. neutral group of atoms held together by ionic bonds.

OpenStudy (tatianagomezb):

How do you imagine a molecule is formed? Two or more atoms that share something, right? What do they share and how? I hope this helps :).

OpenStudy (koikkara):

A neutral group of atoms held together by covalent bonds is a \(Molecule\)

OpenStudy (welshfella):

Its a long time since I did this stuff - but why can't it be d as well as c?

OpenStudy (welshfella):

For example isn't sodium chloride held together by ionic bonds?

OpenStudy (tatianagomezb):

Sodium chloride isn't actually a molecule if you think about it, it's a formula unit. Because you don't have an individual unit, of one Na+ and one Cl- you have a network of continuous units held together in crystals.

OpenStudy (geobit):

I think it is C because atoms are said to be electrically neutral and molecules are group of atoms
