OpenStudy (ozzyxandra):

in a constant volume gas thermometer ,what is the limiting ratio of the pressure at the boiling point of water at 1atm to that at the triple point of water

OpenStudy (shamim):

Welcome to openstudy!!!!

OpenStudy (shamim):

Its a thermometer

OpenStudy (shamim):

In ur thermometer, volume is constant

OpenStudy (shamim):

Pressure is changing with temperature changing

OpenStudy (shamim):

Anyway, temperature of triple point=273.16 K

OpenStudy (shamim):

Temperature of boiling point=373 K

OpenStudy (shamim):

The required formula is 373/273.16=pressure at boiling point temperature/ pressure at triple point temperature
