A 27 ft ladder leans against a wall at an angle of elevation of 47°. How high off the ground does the top of the ladder touch the wall? https://gyazo.com/a42a59731a09f650ecc4136631dd0927

OpenStudy (prathamesh_m):

The ladder along with the wall and the floor would form a right angled triangle. The ladder would be the hypotenuse so you know the length of the hypotenuse as 27 ft. Now sin 47 = (Height of the tip of the ladder from the floor)/(Length of the ladder)

OpenStudy (prathamesh_m):

So use that equation to find the height of the tip of the ladder from the floor.

73 degrees?
