Okay what is the median?
To find the Median, place the numbers you are given in value order and find the middle number. Example: find the Median of {13, 23, 11, 16, 15, 10, 26}. Put them in order: {10, 11, 13, 15, 16, 23, 26} The middle number is 15, so the median is 15. (If there are two middle numbers, you average them.)
Use the lines on the box to help you. The left line is the 1st quartile, the middle line is the 2nd/median and the right line is the 3rd quartile. So anything right of that right line is 25% of the data. Anything left of the left line is also 25% of data.
so basically find your middle number and look how many ar e above it
is it 4?
No thats the middle years, what is half of 12
6
okay you at 4 years you have 6 schools.
Oh ok Thx Dude :D
thats not the answer
WAit what?
no, thats just how much you have one the upper part of the graph
So its 4?
now if you were to take six, and divide it by 2, what would you get?
3
So its 4
I said 4 at first
so is it 4?
the easiest way is to see that a score of 6 is lining up with the third/upper quartile. Therefore anything 6 or above must represent the upper 25% of data. So 25% of 12 schools is 3 schools.
